Richard Huff has dropped down to 113 pounds and continued his winning ways, claiming the championship at that weight class at the Cottage Grove Wrestling Invitational.  He opened competition in his first match, winning by fall in 11 seconds.  He won two decisions, 9-3 and 9-6, then claimed victory in the championship by fall again, this time in 54 seconds.   Riley Jennings was the only other Viking to place at the tournament.  He finished fifth at 152 pounds.

At the girls regional finals Saturday at Thurston High School, Siuslaw’s Eyza Abbas won her first three matches at her weight class to make it to the semi-finals, but lost her final three matches to finish sixth out of the 30 wrestlers in her division.  Only the top four finishers in each weight class advance to the state finals.
