Athlete of the Week cleans up on the boards
Mapleton basketball standout Dominic Wells is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The junior forward led scoring and rebounding in two games last week for the Sailors, scoring a total of 30 points and pulling down 38 rebounds. Honorable Mention goes to Viking wrestler Eyza (AY-suh) Abbas. She finished sixth out of 30 competitors in her weight class at the Western Oregon Girls Wrestling Regional at Thurston High School in Springfield.

Mapleton opens the final week of Mountain West League basketball tonight at home against Alsea. The girls tip off at 5:30, the boys immediately following. Siuslaw will host Marshfield tonight… The Lady Vikings at six, the boys around 7:30. Those games will air on Coast Radio Sports with the pregame show set for 5:45.
