Viking Baseball
The rain managed to hold off for most of the afternoon yesterday allowing the Vikings to take the field against South Umpqua at home. The two teams managed to keep it close but South Umpqua managed to take the W 3-2.
The Vikings face the Brookings Harbor Bruins this afternoon also at home. Pregame begins at 4:45 on KCST and first pitch is at 5. The Lady Vikings are on the road today headed to Brookings to take on the Bruins.
Ducks and Beavers Scheduled
It is a non conference game this afternoon in Corvallis between the Ducks and the hosting Beavers. Pregame this evening on KCFM is 5 o’clock, first pitch at 5:30
Athlete Of The Week
This weeks athlete of the week is Siuslaw high school senion Celie Mans. The senior distance runner ran her fastest time ever in the 3,000 meter, 10:17.77, to finish third at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays.
Kyle King receives honorable mention. The Siuslaw Junior had a mark of 40’ 4”, his best ever, to finish eighth in the triple jump at the Grants Pass Rotary Invitational.
