Lady Ducks in Danger of Elimination
The Oregon Ducks Softball team made it more difficult for them to garner a championship title by dropping yesterday’s game 3-1 to their pac 12 rivals, Washington. The Ducks had many opportunities to bury the Huskies…leaving runners on base in the second, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. The Ducks still have a shot at the women’s College World Series best of 3 final, but they will have to win twice Saturday and twice more Sunday. The Ducks will meet Baylor on Saturday.
Thompson to Start Opener
Oregon State hosts the Corvallis Regionals of the College World Series. The Beavers will take on Holy Cross in a game that airs on KCFM, this evening. pregame is set for 7:30. In a strategic move, Coach Pat Casey has moved starting pitcher Jake Thompson to this evening’s rotation, moving Pac-12 pitcher of the year Luke Heimlich to tomorrows start. The opening game of the Corvallis Regionals pits Yale against Nebraska at 4 this afternoon.
