Trucks Rally for Relay

Three Rivers Casino and Resort in support of Relay For Life is putting together Food Trucks for a Cure.  The event will be on Saturday July 8th outside the casino event center.  And will feature many local and regional food trucks and breweries.  Director of Consumer Marketing with Three Rivers Casino, Rich Colton, says they hope to raise a lot of money for Relay;

“Ten percent of everything they sell that day will go to relay for life and then in our event center, charging $10 to get in the door, and you can come and taste all different kinds of breweries.”

Colton says this may be an inaugural event, but hopes for the future.

“It might not be as big as we want it this year, but we’re really hoping to grow it each year and make it a big event.”

He says they are reaching far and wide to include a diverse group of vendors.  Again, Food Trucks for a Cure will be Saturday July 8th.

Lower Gas Prices

High production, decreased demand, and lower crude prices are responsible for lower prices at the pump this week.  All but two states showed a modest decline in retail gas prices.  Nationally the average price for a gallon of regular gas dropped 4 cents to $2.29 a gallon and in Oregon it dipped two cents to $2.68 a gallon.  Locally here in Florence it averages $2.33 a gallon.  Trends look to hold the price steady as we get into the first full week of summer, but expect it to rise as demand increases.  Marie Dodds with AAA Oregon:

“It’s likely that we will see prices increase by a few cents or so as those tourist areas gear up for lots of visitors over the fourth of July.”

And if you are planning travel to Oklahoma or South Carolina…they are the cheapest in the nation, just under $2.00 a gallon.
