Emeralds Go 20 Innings

2 in 1 Baseball

Most of us were well asleep last night but the fireworks were still going off at PK Park in Eugene.  The visiting Boise Hawks and the Eugene Emeralds were trying to best each other and in the end it took 20 innings.  The emeralds went ahead 2-1 in the  6th inning but the lead was short lived when the Hawks scored 1 in the top of the 7th to tie the game.  It would stay tied into the 11th but both teams scored one run tying it up again.  The duel between pitchers went on for another 9 innings until the 20th when Boise picked up 4 runs on a throwing error, sacrifice fly and a 2 run inside the park home run.  In the bottom of the 20th the Ems eeked out 2 runs but fell short in a comeback attempt.  A total of 15 pitchers were used in the game.  8 by boise and 7 by the Ems.  The two tired teams meet again tonight at p k park at 7:05
