Mulholland Named Unanimous All-American
Oregon State University’s Freshman Hurler, Jake Mulholland has been named a First Team Freshman All-American. He received a unanimous nod from D-1 baseball after going 7 and 1 on the season with a 1.20 earned run average and held batters to a .183 batting average.
Ems Drop 5th Straight
The Eugene Emeralds left another 7 runners on base last night and failed to stop the tri-city Dust Devils from besting them in a4-3 loss last night at PK Park. Eugene managed 11 hits and tied the game in the bottom of the fifth after falling behind 3-nothing. But in the top of the 7th the Dust Devils scored one more to take the lead and then left it in the hands of their pitching staff. Fred Schlictholz gets the win for the devils his first career win. Striking out 5.
New Baseball Coach for Siuslaw
Siuslaw Viking’s Athletic Director Chris Johnson announced yesterday that the school has hired a new Baseball Coach. Tom Shinn a 1988 graduate of Roseburg High School will be taking over the reins from Tony Castro.
