Emeralds Fall Short; Beavers Hit The Road; Ducks Get More Time

Volcanoes Take Emeralds

Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes rode into Eugene last night and laid down a 4 run first inning to let the Emeralds know they came to play.  The Ems put up their best offense in the 5th inning where they managed to score three runs with the help of a triple from 3rd baseman jhonny Bethencourt.  It was all the scoring that either team would do and the Volcanoes walked away with the win 4 to 3.  The two teams meet again this evening at PK Park at 7:05.

Beavers on the Road

The Oregon State Beavers hit the road to visit Colorado State this Saturday.  The pre-game will be on KCFM at 10:30 with the kick-off scheduled for 11:30.

Ducks Get Another Week to Get Ready

The Oregon Ducks have an extra week to get ready for their first game against Southern Utah.  Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt says he likes what he is seeing from his first string defense in scrimmages, but that they continually work to improve.  The bench isn’t as deep as he would like to see, but he says as long as the Arrow of improvement is pointed up he believes they have a chance.
