Bye Week Means Extra Work For Ducks

Ducks Prepare During Bye Week

Ducks defensive coach Jim Leavitt says that the one thing he noticed when reviewing the game tapes from last week’s defeat at the hands of Washington was the grit that his defense showed in not giving up.  He said that fundamentals was the key as they go into the buy week and that he liked the fight he saw in his players even when they were down.  Especially since it is a young defensive line.

“Yeah I noticed there were 6 freshman on that last play when we stopped them 4th and 1.  We had 6 freshmen, one red shirt freshman, a sophomore, a junior, and 2 seniors…so I’m proud of that.”

Head Coach Willie Taggart says that Herbert is right in the window for his recovery to start against Arizona on the 18th but that he is still preparing both quarterbacks for play in that matchup.  But he is hopeful that Herbert will be ready.

The Beavers get a taste of Arizona this weekend in Tucson.
