Huff With 4 Straight Pins
The Siuslaw Vikings finished 5th overall in the Nick Lutz Invitational Wrestling Tournament that it hosted on Saturday. 18 schools competed and senior Richard Huff had 4 pins to claim the title in the 126 pound category.
Season Opener Tough on Vikings
Far west league opening match ups in basketball saw the Viking boys and girls fall to Marshfield at home on Friday. In the boys matchup senior Jake Hickson led all scorers for the Vikings with 11 in the 53-31 loss.
Viking girls were handed their 12th loss on the season with a 67-27 defeat by the Pirates.
Oregon/OSU Men Struggle
In College hoops the Ducks fell to the Wildcats on Saturday in McKale Center 90-83. While the Beavers were toppled by the SunDevils in Tempe 77-75
Lady’s Garner Momentum in College Hoops
On the lady’s side, the Beavers beat the Wildcats in Corvallis on Saturday 88-48 and on Sunday the Ducks took down the visiting SunDevils 74-64.
