Vikings Out-Batted Agains Sutherlin
The Siuslaw Vikings hosted Sutherlin on Friday. The hard hitting Bulldogs put up 12 hits and 12 runs against the Vikings Friday afternoon. Coach Shinn said the team let some mistakes pile up on them on both offense and defense and the team struggled at the plate. Managing only one hit and one run. Final Score was 12-1.
Lady Viks Softball
The Lady Vikings softball team were defeated by Visiting Sutherlin 17-5
Ducks and Beavers Advance to Sweet 16
The Lady Ducks advance in the NCAA tournament with a 101-73 victory over Minnesota. It is their second straight sweet 16 appearance. Minnesota’s coach Marlene Stollings said she expects to see the Ducks in the Final Four.
The Beaver women also advance to the sweet 16 as they defeated Tennessee. 66-59 in Nashville.
Ducks Eliminated
The Duck men were eliminated in the NIT Tournament after losing to Marquette on Sunday 101-92.
Beavers Sweep Cal
Beaver Baseball continues to roll as they met with Cal over the weekend for three games. The Beavers swept the Golden Bears 4-3 , 10-4, 6-4.
Ducks Can’t Stand the Heat
The Ducks were not as fortunate on the mound in Phoenix against the Arizona State SunDevils. The Sun Devils swept the Ducks 7-4, 18-4, 6-1.
