Ducks Face Notre Dame

The Lady Ducks easily handled Central Michigan on Saturday and now head to the elite 8 round of the NCAA tournament.  The Ducks will be on the hardwood this evening to face #5 Notre Dame in Spokane.  Notre Dame knocked off Texas A&M on Saturday to advance.  The tipoff of this evening’s game will be at 6 pm and will be broadcast by ESPN.

Louisville Too Much for Beavers

Louisville proved to be too much of a match for the Oregon State Beavers as the Cardinals shot out from the gate and dashed OSU’s hopes for a final four appearance.  Final score was 76-43.

OSU 2 For 3 With Washington

Oregon State on the diamond over the weekend failed to sweep Washington but did managed to win the first two games of the series.  Play started with a washout on Friday and moved to a double-header on Saturday where the Beavers dominated 16-1 and 5-2, but on Sunday Washington took a 5 -3 lead into the fifth and added three more for an 8-4 defeat of the Beavers.  It is only the Beavers second loss on the season.  They are 20-2 overall and 5-1 in the PAC 12.

Ducks 2 For 3 with Cal

The Ducks on the diamond face the Cal Bears over the weekend winning the series 2-1  in the double header on Saturday the Ducks took both games 8-5 and 7-2, but the Golden Bears wouldn’t be denied a third time taking an early 5-0 lead.  The Ducks rallied in the bottom of the ninth but could only manage 2 runs and dropped to Cal 5-3.

Siuslaw Sports:

This afternoon the Siuslaw girls play Pleasant Hill at 1 o’clock in a spring break tourney in Newport at Yaquina View Elementary school.  Game two this afternoon is Far West League foe Marshfield at 5 o’clock at Newport High School.

 

The Siuslaw Vikings are playing non-league tournament baseball to kick of their spring break.  This afternoon’s game at Newport High School will be against Dallas.  The day’s second game for Siuslaw is at 5 o’clock against Estacada.
