Siuslaw standout pitcher and Oregon State University’s star hurler, Jake Thompson, has been moved up the ranks in the Major League Baseball system. After a brief stint with the Lowell Spinners after last year’s draft, Thompson has been moved to single A ball in Salem Virginia with the Salem Red Sox. Today is opening day for the team they will take on Buis Creek Astros from North Carolina.
