Several Vikings Shine at Junction City Invitational; Mapleton Sailors at AMT Invitational; Ducks Take Washington Series; Beavers Drop Two In Tucson

Several Vikings Shine at Junction City Invitational

The Siuslaw Vikings competed in the Junction City invitational over the weekend.  Several Vikings had standout performances.  Sophomore Ryan Rendon-Padilla won the javelin event with a throw of 151 feet, 2 inches and freshman Brea Blankenship won the 800 meter with a time of 2:42.10.  The Girls also won the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:35.12.  Overall in competition the boys finished in 4th place and the girls in 5th.

Mapleton Sailors at AMT Invitational

Mapleton Senior Nathen Roane took second place in the javelin toss during Friday’s AMJ Invitational with a throw of  120 feet 11 inches.

Senior Cole Spencer took 2nd place in the Men’s high jump with a personal record of 5 ft. 8 inches.

Senior Dominique Wells also scored a personal best with a 5ft 8 inch jump.

Ducks Take Washington Series

On the mound over the weekend the Ducks took 2 of 3 from Washington State at home winning both games of a double header on Friday and then dropping Sunday’s matchup 7-0.

Beavers Drop Two In Tucson

The Oregon State Beavers were on the road in Tucson over the weekend where they won the opener 6-2 on Friday but were taken down hard on Saturday with a 15-4 loss.  Sunday the Beavers went into the 8th inning with a 5-2 lead but the Wildcats scored 3 in the eigth and a bonus in the 9th to cap the series 2-1.
