Vikings Win Season Opener

The Siuslaw Viking baseball team wins on the road last night in Coos Bay.  The Vikings met with Marshfield for the league opener.  According to Coach Tom Shinn it was an ugly win with too many strike outs but in the end the Vik’s came out on top.  Marshfield went up 2-1 in the fourth inning without even getting a hit.  The Viking outfield kept the game from getting out of control as Clayton Remilong and Tanner Wilson continue to be aggressive running down balls.  Caleb Hennessee was instrumental in his second win of the season striking out 7 batters in 5 innings and adding some offense with 2 RBIs.  Dalton Stinger came in relief with two innings for the save… facing 7 batters and striking out 5.  Final score 3-2 Vikings.

Girls softball was postponed until today as the field was too wet.
