Vikings Host Douglas; Track and Field; Beavers Roll on Portland

Vikings Host Douglas

Siuslaw Vikings got hit hard by the Douglas Trojans yesterday but fought hard to stay in the hunt.  The Trojans hit the ball well, but Siuslaw made several attempts to get back pulling within 2 runs.  Final Score 8-6 Douglas.

In softball the Viking ladies fell to Douglas 8-1.

Track and Field

Track and Field Siuslaw traveled to Pete Susick Stadium in Coos bay for the Far West League Varsity Meet.  Sophomore Brendon Jenson set a Season Record with his third place finish in the Men’s 800 meters with a time of 2:09.04.  as well as a personal record and a first place finish in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:23.18.  Sophomore Kiger Johnson finished 3rd with a personal record time of 4:33.73.

It was a personal record for freshman Ryan Jennings in the 300 meter hurdles as he finished second with a time of 45.57.

Sophomore Ryan Rendon-Padilla once again finshed atop the list for the discus beating out North Bend’s Andrew Hobson by 6 inches with a toss of 118-08.  And taking first in the javelin at 164-03.  Kyle King had a season best 40-02.25 and a second place finish in the triple jump.

On the ladies side freshman Brea Blankenship finished first in the 800 meters with a personal record time of 2:28.79 and sophomore Anne Wartnik finished third with a personal record best time of 2:37.10

Junior Madison Reynolds and freshman Adrea Osbon finished second and third in the shot put.  Reynolds had a season best toss of 33-03 and Osbon had a personal best of 33-02.

Andrea also took second in the discus tossing it 94-05

Beavers Roll on Portland

In college baseball the beavers were in Hillsboro last night to take on Portland.  OSU won 9-2
