Athlete of the Week

The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate this week’s Athlete of the Week,  Mapleton sophomore track standout Dylan Rogers.  Dylan garnered a first place finish in the javelin at last weeks Toledo Twilight with a throw of 131-06

Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw Senior Trent Reavis who, after knee surgery and rehab, returned to throw the shot put for a second place finish at the wally Ciochetti Invitational with a throw of 49-11.5 inches.

Viking/South Umpqua

The Siuslaw Vikings gave up 14 runs and scored three on their trip to Myrtle Creek to face South Umpqua.  Siuslaw got two runs on a walk and a balk in the first four innings.  They had a difficult time hitting South Umpqua’s pitching.

Viking Softball

The lady Vikings host South Umpqua at home.  Alexis Smith was the shining spot for an error filled game.  She was two of three at the plate, scoring the only Siuslaw run.  Siuslaw committed 12 errors, 9 of which resulted in runs.  Final score 15-1

Civil War Tonight

The Ducks host the Beavers in a Pac Twelve match up this evening at PK Park in Eugene.  Tonight’s game on KCFM begins with a first pitch at 5:30,  pregame on KCFM is at 5 o’clock.
