Final Games of the 2018 Baseball Season for Siuslaw

The Siuslaw baseball season ended with a barrage of runs from their South Umpqua opponents at yesterday’s double header at Jiggs Dodson Field.  The Vikings looked pretty good early in the first game holding South Umpqua to one run until the 5th inning where a couple of errors and some good hitting cost Siuslaw 4 runs.  5 more runs were added in the final 2 innings for a 10-0 loss.

Game two of the double header began with a barrage from South Umpqua with a 10 run first inning. And 9 more runs added for a 19-3 loss.

It was a 10 – nothing defeat for the lady Vikings in the first game of their double header on Thursday.  The South Umpqua Lancers also won the second game 13-3

Far West League District Championships

The Far West League District track and field meet is today and tomorrow in Florence at Siuslaw High School.

Mapleton Track

Mapleton will take part in the 1 A Special Districts track and field championship meet at Blue River’s McKenzie Community Track on Saturday.

College Diamond Action

Pac Twelve baseball this weekend has Oregon State at home with Stanford beginning this evening at 7 o’clock at Coleman Field in Corvallis.  Tonight’s pregame on KCFM is at 6:30; Saturday’s at 1:30, and Sunday’s broadcast begins at 11:30am.

 

Oregon is at home this weekend hosting the Utah Utes at PK Park.  Tonight’s game begins at 6:30, the series closes out in Eugene Sunday.
