AOTY Honors; Lady Ducks Head Home; Beavers On To Super Regionals;

AOTY Honors

Friday evening in Florence at Siuslaw High School two student athletes were awarded with Athlete of the Year Honors.  For the Boys it was Kyle King for his efforts on the basketball court as well as his contributions during the track and field season.  For the Ladies it was sophomore Hannah Rannow who took a state championship in the 800m as well as honors in the 1500 and the 4×400 relay.

Lady Ducks Head Home

The PAC 12 Champion Oregon Ducks could not get past the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday.  The Seminoles knocked the Ducks out of the College World series with a 4-1 victory on Saturday.

Beavers On To Super Regionals

The Oregon State Beavers on Saturday took the first game against LSU it typical Beaver Fashion.  Defeating the Tigers 14 -1.  Luke Heimlich won his 15 game of the season to surpass the likes of Scott Christman, Andrew Moore and Jake Thompson who all had 14 win seasons.  The Beavers were already leading 5-0 when they exploded with a 5 run 4th inning.  The Beavers has 15 hits on the night.

 

Last night in Corvallis… the Oregon State Beavers closed out the Corvallis regionals with a 12-nothing rout of the LSU Tigers.  Kevin Abel pitched 8 and a third innings in the 3 hit shutout.  Next up is Minnesota in the super regionals.
