Beavers Roll After Rain Delay; Emeralds Take Opening Series

Beavers Roll After Rain Delay

The Oregon State Beavers were behind the Washington Huskies 5-4 when a lengthy storm delay left the bases loaded with 2 outs.  A walk to restart the game evened the score at 5-5.  In the seventh with two men on Kyle Nobach hit a three run homer to put the Beavers up 9-5.  They added 5 more runs to make the final score 14-5.  Kevin Abel earned the win, allowing one earned run while striking out five in four innings of relief work. The freshman threw on both ends of the weather delay.  Next up for the Beavers will be either North Carolina or Mississippi State on Wednesday at 4 pm with a 3:30 pregame on KCFM.  North Carolina and Mississippi State play today.

Emeralds Take Opening Series

The Eugene Emeralds took game 4 of their 5 game series against the Vancouver Canadians, winning 2-0 last night at PK Park.  The Ems finish off their 5 game home stand this evening, before hitting the road to Hillsboro to take on the Hops for a three game series.
