Beavers Try Again Today; Ems Drop Three in a Row

Beavers Try Again Today

Inclement weather shut down the college world series yesterday as thunder and lightning and a lot of rain drenched Omaha.  There was a hope that the game would merely be delayed several hours after the storms passed, but as it got later in the day it was obvious to officials that the best course of action was to cancel yesterday’s game.  They will try again today at 4pm pacific time.  Pregame on KCFM will be at 3:30.  Beaver Ace, Luke Heimlich is slated to start.  Heimlich had been shut down in his two previous starts and coach Pat Casey is looking for vintage Luke in today’s game.

Ems Drop Three in a Row

The Eugene Emeralds took the field last night at PK Park.  They took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first but a big 3rd inning by Boise dampened the Ems spirits.  Boise put 5 notches on the scoreboard and added an additional 2 in the seventh.  The ems had 4 hits on the night and one error.  They drop the series with Boise and hope to get back on track this evening with the Volcanoes in Salem.  Game time is 6:35.
