Emeralds Come From Behind
The Eugene Emeralds topped the Hillsboro Hops last night 4-3. All four runs for the Ems came in the bottom of the ninth inning after trailing the Hops 3-0. Hops manager, Shawn Roof was ejected from the game in the bottom of the ninth by home plate umpire Ray Patchen after Roof sternly questioned calls that may have contributed to the Ems comeback. The series is split a game a piece and will continue this evening at PK Park at 7:05 pm.
Thompson Gets Win #4
Former Siuslaw Viking Pitcher Jake Thompson got his fourth win of the season pitching for the Salem Red Sox. Thompson went 5 innings giving up 3 runs and 3 walks and striking out one, but the Sox managed to stay out in front with 5 runs to give Thompson the win.
