Emeralds on the Road to Spokane

The Eugene Emeralds took the night off last night and resume play this evening in Spokane to take on the Spokane Indians for a 5 game series.  The Emeralds are currently 9-16 on the season and face the struggling Indians who are at 6 and 13.  The games first pitch will be at 6:30 pm.

Ducks Hire New Softball Coach

The Oregon ducks have a new softball coach.  UofO’s athletic director Rob Mullens announced that they have brought on Melyssa Lombardi from the University of Oklahoma to head the program for the Ducks.  Lombardi recently completed her 21st year with Oklahoma, the last 11 as head coach.  The Sooners have reached the post season every year since Lombardi has been involved with the program.

Beavers Get ABC Debut

Oregon State Beavers Football will open their season on ABC September 1st.  The school announced that the game against Ohio State will be televised on the network.  It will be a 9:30 am game for the west coast.  It will be the debut of new Beavers head coach Jonathan Smith.
