The Eugene Emeralds won one and lost two over the weekend against the Tri-City Dust Devils. Last night’s game in Washington was a back and forth battle over 9 innings. The game was tied at 4-4 through 7 innings when a wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th scored Tri-City’s Tre Carter. Jordan Guerrero was brought in for the Devils in the top of the ninth to strike out Jonathan Sierra for the win. The series is tied 2-2 and the deciding game will be played this evening in Pasco, Washington at 7:15. The game marks the mid season for the MILB.

Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Brea Blankenship as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Brea’s personal record best of 19:41 flat in the 5000 meter run in the Warner Pacific XC Classic helped propel the Viking Ladies to a first place finish this past weekend trimming 27 seconds from her previous start and 25.5 seconds from her previous personal best.
Honorable Mention goes to Mia Collins who had 10 kills, 9 digs and a block last week’s win against Elmira.
