Extra Innings Gets Ems

The Eugene Emeralds were at home last night as they hosted the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes.  The ems were leading 2-1 in the top of the 8th when a line drive single form the Volcanoes Jose Layer drove in a run to tie the game.  The game stayed tied until the top of the 10th inning when 3rd baseman for the Volcanoes David Villar hit a ground rule double to deep center field scoring 2 runs.  The Ems scored once in the bottom of the 10th but the game ended when right fielder Jonathan Sierra grounded out to first base.  The Ems will host the volcanoes again tonight at PK Park with the first pitch at 7:05
