Athlete of the Week

Mapleton sophomore football player JJ Neece is this week’s Athlete of the Week.  JJ showed toughness on both sides of the ball against Perrydale, totaling 7 touchdowns on offense, 5 rushing and 2 passing, and rushing 231 yards.  On defense he had 12 tackles caused a fumble and had a fumble recovery.

Honorable mention also goes to a Sailor.  Evan Moso had 10 rushes for 130 yards, 2 catches for 76 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2-2point conversions.  On defense he had 3 tackles and an interception and a 49 yard return.

Emeralds Drop Last Game of the Season- On to the Playoffs

The Emeralds last regular season game was a loss against the Boise Hawks.  The Hawks defeated the Ems 11-2 giving the Ems a 31-45 season total, but it is enough to get them into the playoffs as they host the Hillsboro Hops tomorrow for a 3 game playoff series.:

Prep Action:

The Lady Viks return to the court tonight for volleyball against the Tigers in Bandon.   It’s a multi team meet with Douglas in tonight’s fray.

 

The Sailors will take on the Siletz Valley Warriors in Mountain West League volleyball in Mapleton this evening at 6 o’clock.
