Neece, One Man Wrecking Crew

Quarterback JJ Neece exploded Friday night in 8 man football.  The Sailors defeated the Oak Ridge Warriors 70 – 54, but it was Neece that lit up the field with 484 yards rushing with 8 touchdowns and 4 for 6 passing with a 20 yard touchdown pass.  Neece’s 484 yard performance ranks sixth all time.  In just 4 games Neece has rushed for 1104 yards with 17 touchdowns completing 13 of 19 passes for seven touchdowns and 12 two point conversions.

Lady Sailors Win Back to Back in Non-League Tourney

The Mapleton Lady Sailors were on the court this weekend in non-league action against two schools.  The sailors defeated Pacific in three straight sets 25-21, 25-17, and 25-22.  Senior Erin Michaels contributed 7 aces and 8 kills and senior Heather McMaster-wills added 3 aces and a kill. In the late match the sailors met the falcons of Oak Hill, defeating them in four sets 16-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-13.  Senior Erin Michaels had 10 aces and 9 kills with Heather McMaster-Wills adding 7 aces and a kill.

LaGrande Down Vikings

The Siuslaw lady Vikings participated in the sisters invitational over the weekend.  They met with La Grande on Saturday losing 2-1.

Ducks 2nd Half Stumbles

The Ducks blew a large 1st half lead and allowed the #7 ranked Stanford to comeback and tie the game sending it to overtime where they defeated the ducks 38-31.

Wildcats Down Beavers

The Beavers hosted the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.  Reser stadium was about half full as the Cats scored first to take a quick 7-0 lead with just 2 minutes in the first quarter.  The Beavers returned the favor tying it up.  But it was all Arizona after that with JJ Taylor rushing for 284 yards on the day. Wildcats 35- Beavers 14.
