Eagles Stun Vikings; Sailors Sink in Overtime; Lady Vikings Victorious; Cross Country at Woahink; Ducks Win; Beavers Don’t

Eagles Stun Vikings

Friday evening on the road the Siuslaw Vikings met with the formidable Harrisburg Eagles.  The Eagles score 63 points on the visiting Vikings.  The Eagles have been averaging 49 points per game against opponents.  One highlight though, sophomore QB Elijah Blankenship had a 58 yard rushing touchdown on the Vikings first possession.  It would be their only score on the night.  Final score 63-7

Sailors Sink in Overtime

The Mapleton Sailors battled back and forth against the Yoncalla Eagles.  It came down to overtime where the Eagles put the ball in the endzone to edge the Sailors 44-38.  QB JJ Neece rushed for 202 yards and had 204 yards passing.  Senior Cody Soverns had 5 catches for 88 yards, 22 yards rushing and one TD.

Lady Vikings Victorious

The Lady Vikings were on the court on Saturday for the Junction City Tournament.  The Vikings won both their matches.  First up they met with Madras taking them down 25-13 and 25-22.  In the second match the faced Molalla defeating them 25-19 and 25-17.  The Vikings are now 6-8 on the season, 0 for 5 in league play.  Next up is Cottage Grove on the road tomorrow at 6:30

Cross Country at Woahink

Viking Cross Country on Saturday, Hannah Rannow posted a 19:39.30 in the Varsity 5000 meter race which was good enough for second place on the day.  Sophomore Brea Blankenship finished 13th with a time of 20:42.17.  for the boys Brendon Jenson finished 14th in the 5000 meter varsity race.

Ducks Win

Oregon Ducks faced #24 Cal over the weekend.  The 19th ranked Ducks led at halftime 28 to 10 and added two more touchdowns in the second half to defeat the golden bears 42-24

Beavers Don’t

The Beavers were not as lucky as they marched into Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday to face the ASU Sun Devils.  The Sun Devils scored 52 points against the Beavers.  Final score 52-24.
