Cross County Team Moves Forward

District Championships for the Sky Em League were held yesterday in Eugene at Lane community College.  The Vikings had a strong showing finishing in second place for both the girls and boys, but it was a day of personal records for the Viking runners.  Hannah Rannow finished in 3rd place with a PR of 18:33.13.  Coach Chris Johnson says it ranks among the best performances for a Siuslaw Cross Country runner.  Johnson says all seven girls posted Personal Records on the day.  For the boys it was a late charge by sophomore Brendon Jensen that hoisted the boys into second place.  Jensen’s time was 16:35.81.  Jonah Jarman had a personal record time of 17:05.60 and Johnson said that Robert Mans contributed with quote “the best performance of his life” with a 17:49.94 finish.  Ryan Jennings and Kiger Johnson also finished in the top 20.  Nest up for the Vikings is the State 4A championships on November 3rd.

Sailors Host Playoff Game

Tonight the Mapleton Sailors host the Mohawk Mustangs in the 1A Special District 1 playoff game. The sailors are 3-5 overall and 1-4 in league play.  Game time is at 7pm.

Vikings Final Home Stand

The Siuslaw Vikings hit the grid iron for the final game of the football season.  Tonight’s match up in Florence pits Siuslaw against visiting Sutherlin.  Pregame on KCST is at 6:45, kick off between the Bulldogs and Vikings is at 7 o’clock at Hans Petersen Memorial Field.

Ducks in the Desert

Oregon is in the desert Saturday taking on Arizona in Tucson.  Pregame on KCST is at 6 o’clock, kick off between the Ducks and Wildcats is at 7:30.

Beavers Head to Colorado

Oregon State will be in Boulder, Colorado tomorrow for Pac Twelve play. Pregame on KCFM is at 11am, kick off  between the Beavs and Buffalo will be at 12 noon at Folsom Stadium.
