York Intends to Play for WOU

6 foot Siuslaw high senior volleyball standout Makenzie York has signed a letter of intent to compete for Western Oregon University.  The program is currently in transition as it looks for a new head coach.  York’s Mother Wendy, says her daughter is excited to meet whoever takes over the program and has not yet decided a course of education according to explodingwhalesports.com.  York has been awarded first team honors all four years at Siuslaw High School.

Ducks Fall to Iowa

The Oregon Ducks fell to Iowa yesterday 77-69 in the 2k empire classic in New York City and while the loss stunned the 13th ranked Ducks it provide them with the opportunity to play number 15 Syracuse who was defeated by Connecticut.  Tip off for the Ducks Syracuse matchup will be at 1:30 today and the pregame will begin on KCST at 1.

Osu VS Old Dominion

Oregon State is on the court today to face Old Dominion Monarch in the Paradise  Basketball Jam on Saint Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.  Pregame this morning on KCFM begins at 9:30,  The four day tournament continues through Monday with Oregon State games airing on KCFM.

Women’s Hoops

Women’s basketball continues Saturday for the Oregon State Beavers.  Tip off between the Beavs and Gales is set for 6 o’clock in Moraga, California’s McKeon Pavilion.  Sunday the Oregon women will be hosting Buffalo at 2 o’clock at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene.
