Vikings Defeat Mapleton
The Siuslaw Vikings and the Mapleton Sailors kicked off the basketball season last night in Mapleton. The Viking boys were victorious with a 67-33 win over the Sailors. Freshman Braydon Thornton led Viking scorers with 17 points.
The Viking girls also had a season opening win against the Lady Sailors with a 75-21 win. Junior Mia Collins led the lady Vikings with 20 points
The Vikings open up their home games tomorrow evening with a double header against Tillamook. The boys take the courts at 5:30 with a pregame set for 5:15 on KCST. Girls follow at 7.
Mapleton will be on the court and on the road against Portland Christian for the Silver Cross Tournament in east Linn.
