Tillamook Outlast Vikings

The Siuslaw Vikings hosted the Tillamook Cheesemakers Friday night in the end for the boys it was a low percentage from the free throw line that made the difference.  With 22 chances the Vikings only downed 8 free throws.  Sophomore Jacob Foskett was high scorer for the Vikings with 14.  The Cheesemakers came out on top in a close game 48-44.

 

The lady Vikings were also in a close match with the Cheesemakers. Sophomore Lindsey Long scored 15 and Gracie Freudenthal added 12 in a tough match up. But it was the free throw line again that made the difference.  Tillamook had 18 points from the line to Siuslaw’s 6.  Final score 47-41 Tillamook.

Respectable 4th Place for Viking Grapplers

19 schools competed in the Devon Dawson Memorial wrestling tournament on Friday.  The Siuslaw Vikings with second place finishes from senior Riley Jennings and sophomore Brady Libby hoisted the grapplers to a fourth place team finish. Several Vikings scored points in the tournament including sophomore Elijah LaCosse (19) and junior Matthew Horrillo (15)

College Hoops:

The Oregon Duck Men lost to Houston on Saturday 65-61.  The Oregon Duck women devastated Long Beach State 110-48 yesterday in Eugene.

 

The OSU Beavers were at home on Saturday to face Missouri State.  The Beavers outscored the bears 101-77.

 

The OSU Women pummeled LaSalle 100-46.

 

The Oregon Ducks are headed to the Redbox Bowl in Santa Clara on New Years Eve.  They will face Michigan State.
