Viking Boy’s Basketball
The Siuslaw Viking boys basketball on Friday night posted a win against British Columbia’s Samuel Robertson. Senior Dylan Wynn scored 13 and freshman Braydon Thornton posted 12 in the 55-37 win. The win set up the next match with Sutherlin on Saturday. Sutherlin defeated the Vikings 44-33.
Viking Girls
The girls basketball team was also victorious on Friday night against Samuel Robertson. With a 67-52 win. That win advanced them to the fourth place game against Harrisburg where the lady Vikings were defeated 52-34.
Next up for the Vikings is Sutherlin tomorrow night. Game time on KCST is at 5:15
Coast Classic
On the matt over the weekend was the Coast Classic in North Bend. The ladies had an appearance on the podium as Bailey Overton took the championship in the 115 lb class, Kinga Bugasjka was runner up in the 145 pound category and Hayden Muller took 3rd in the 135 pound class. A couple of pins highlighted performances by Brady Libby, Elijah LaCosse and Christian Newlan. 30 schools comprised the two day tournament none of the 7 Vikings that competed placed. Next up for the Vikings is the Grant’s Pass Winter Kickoff this Friday and Saturday.
Oregon Vs. Nebraska/Omaha
The Oregon Ducks were at home on Saturday to face Nebraska/Omaha. The Ducks won 84-61. The #3 ranked lady ducks fell to Michigan state on Sunday 88-82.
Beavers/St Louis
The Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball team was in St. Louis on Sunday. They fell to the Billikens 65-61. The lady Beavers were at home in Corvallis where they defeated visiting Santa Clara 82-31
