Athlete Of The Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulates Siuslaw Viking freshman wrestler Bailey Overton as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Bailey won the 115 pound weight class in this past weekend’s Coast Classic in North Bend. Bailey is the first lady Viking to take a championship on the mat.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to senior Basketball player Dylan Wynn. Dylan scored a total of 37 point in the three day tournament last week including 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in the Viking win against Samuel Robertson on Friday.
Hardwood Action
The Vikings return to the hardwood tonight for a non league double header against the Sutherlin Bulldogs. Pregame on KCST is at 5:15, tip off in game one is at 5:30 over Coast Radio Sports from Sutherlin High School.
Mapleton is in Triangle Lake to open Mountain West League play against the Lakers in a boys and girls double header. The girls open the evening in game one, the boys follow in the night cap.
