Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, The Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore Viking basketball player Jacob Foskett as this week’s Athlete of the Week. In last week’s Bandon Dunes Invitational Jacob scored a combined 24 points with 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals in the two wins leading to the tournament championship against Bandon.
Honorable mention goes to senior Viking basketball player Dylan Wynn whose 13 points and 4 rebounds was instrumental in the Vikings Thursday night win against Douglas.
Vikings Win Tourney
The Siuslaw Vikings put together back to back wins on Thursday and Friday at the Bandon Dunes Invitational. After defeating Douglas on Thursday night the Viking men behind the leadership of freshman Braydon Thornton and Jacob Foskett scored 54 points to defeat Bandon 54-33.
The Lady Vikings participated in the consolation game on Friday where they defeated Bandon 30-8
UO/OSU Take Losses
Kent State defeated the Beavers on Friday 66-63 and the Oregon Ducks lost to Baylor 57-47
The Beavers take on Central Connecticut at home
And the Ducks face boise state on the road. Both games are this Saturday.
Lady Ducks Trounce UC Irving
The lady Ducks took down UC Irving 115-69.
