Three Rivers Resort Names CEO

Three Rivers Casino Resort has announce the promotion of Dan Condy to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the casino.  Condy has been with the casino for 2 years and was director of gaming for them.  Condy has 25 years experience including work with Harrah’s entertainment.  Confederated Tribes Chief Warren Brainard said via a statement that Condy “rose to the top of the list” of candidates.  Condy officially stepped into the position in December.

SNAP Recipients Get February Advance

Citizens participating in the Oregon SNAP program, or food stamps, will notice that their benefits for the month of February have been installed on their cards.  The Oregon Food Bank announced the early download saying there were concerns that benefits may suffer some problems due to the government shutdown.  People seeking to apply for the SNAP program can still do so.

Gas Prices in Oregon Continue Downward

The national average for a gallon of regular gas is beginning to creep up around the country, but AAA Oregon representative Marie Dodds says that is not the case for Oregon.   The Oregon average dropped another 4 cents this week and puts Oregon at its lowest price in a year at $2.83.  Florence’s average is at $2.42 a gallon which is down 4 cents from a week ago.  Oregon now has dropped below Nevada dropping out of the top 5 for most expensive gas prices.

Peace Harbor Heart Healthy Talk

Peace Health/Peace Harbor Medical center will host Heart-health and wellness expert Joe Piscatella for a special talk about Overcoming Barriers to Heart-Healthy Living.  The event will be at the Florence Event Center from 4-5:30 pm on February 7th.  Piscatella is the author of 17 best-selling books and has hosted several PBS television specials and has contributed to the Today Show and Good Morning America.  From 3-4 pm that same day attendees can receive free blood pressure screenings and speak with Peace Harbor staff about available medical services. Door prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.
