Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate Mapleton senior basketball player Erin Michael as this week’s Athlete of the Week. In last Thursday’s win against Eddyville Charter Erin scored 22 points in the 48-23 win Lady Sailor’s win. Coach Melissa Duffy said this was one of Michael’s best if not the best performance this year.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw Basketball player Gracie Freudenthal who had a great defensive effort against Marshfield with 12 rebounds and held Marshfield’s premiere scorer Hailey Browning to just 4 points in Friday night’s loss.
Senior Night, Siuslaw Basketball
It’s the final week of the regular Skyem League basketball season. And tonight is Senior Night as Siuslaw will take on the Falcons of Elmira in Florence. Tonight’s double header pregame show airs at 5:30 with the opening game this evening tipping off at 5:45. Game two of the evening between the Vikings and Falcons tips off at 7:15.
