Civil War:
On Friday the Oregon Lady Ducks hosted the OSU Beavers for civil war action on the courts. The lady Ducks handed the Beavers a 77-68 defeat on their home court. Sabrina Ionescu put up 29 points and Ruthy Hebard added 21. Destiny Slocum, for the Beavers put up 19 points.
On Saturday the Men duked it out for bragging rights and the Beavers had the Ducks number early on in the competition. Stephen Thompson Junior scored 22 points for the hosting Beavers. The Ducks managed to out rebound the Beavers but couldn’t convert them to points. The Beavers won the civil war contest 72-57.
Baseball Begins:
The Beavers were back on the diamond over the weekend at the Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic in Arizona. The Beavers beat New Mexico, Gonzaga, and Minnesota, 6-5, 9-3 and 13-1 respectively. They play New Mexico again today to finish the tournament.
The Ducks were also on the mound in Lubbock Texas where they met with 8th ranked Texas Tech. The Ducks won the first meeting 9-4 but lost the next two 12-11 and 6 -4. They also finish up today with game 4.
