Duck Women’s First Final Four
The Oregon Duck Women are celebrating after defeating Mississippi State in the NCAA tournament. The win gives them a seat in the Final Four. Most of the game would have been considered a nail biter with 11 ties and 15 lead changes, but with 10 minutes left in the game Oregon held on to the lead. Junior Sabrina Ionescu scored 31 points and sophomore Satou Sabally adding 22. Oregon will face the winner of tonight’s Iowa/Baylor game in Tampa on April 5th.
Beavers Head Home
On Friday the OSU Beaver’s women’s teamwere defeated by Louisville. Who was then defeated by UCONN on Sunday. UCON will be appearing in their 12 consecutive final 4.
Ducks Sweep Utes
The Oregon Ducks baseball team swept the Utah Utes over the weekend 9-4, 9-6, 6-3. The ducks have a 4 game series against Fresno State beginning on Friday.
Beavers Sweep Huskies
The OSU Beavers baseball team swept Washington over the weekend. On Friday the Beaver’s Brandon Eisert held Washington to 4 hits with 9 strikeouts. Washington’s David Rhodes dueled with Eisert holding the Beavers to just 5 hits and 8 strikeouts. The Beavers managed one run which was all they would need. Eisert improves to 6-0 on the year. Saturday’s game was a 10-7 win for the beavers and yesterday in Seattle it took 11 innings before George Mendoza hit a solo home run to put a win in the column for the Beavers. final 4-3.
