Athlete Of The Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore Siuslaw Viking baseball player Dalton Stinger as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Stinger came out of relief to start for the Vikings on the mound with poise and determination with 5 strikeouts and allowing just 7 hits over 7 complete innings in the Viking close loss to Neah Kah Nie last week. Coach Shinn said Stinger threw the ball well and was happy to see the transition from relief to starting pitcher.
Honorable Mention goes to Siuslaw junior Caleb Hennessee who had one hit and one RBI in the game.
Baseball/Softball Cancelled
Siuslaw baseball and softball for today has been postponed until tomorrow.
Track and Field
Siuslaw is on the road for JV track and field action at Junction City High School. Mapleton will host a track meet this afternoon with events beginning at 4:30.
Beaver Baseball
Oregon State is on the diamond today for a non conference game against San Diego State. Today’s game is the first of a two game short series, first pitch is at 5:30.
