Marist Classic Track and Field Meet; Mapleton Track and Field; Ducks Split with Fresno State; Beavers Sweep Utes

Marist Classic Track and Field Meet

On Saturday the Siuslaw Viking track and field team participated in the Marist Classic in Eugene.

Senior Naomi Shoji finished in first place in the 400 meters with a personal best time of 1:05.01.  Sophomore Gracie Freudenthal finished first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.07 and sophomore Andrea Osbon finished 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 34ft 3in.  Junior Ryan Rendon-Padilla out tossed the field in the Javelin with a first place finish of 172 ft.

Mapleton Track and Field

Mapleton track and field competed in the AMJ tournament in Blue River on Saturday. Freshman Opal Burress got the victory in the 1500 meter race with a time of 6:11.42 a personal record time for her.  Sophomore Emily Stevens finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.3.  Sophomore JJ Neece finished 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 19.70 and second in the high jump at 5ft-6in.  Junior Dylan Rogers finished 2nd in the shot put with a toss of 35ft-10in.

Ducks Split with Fresno State

After losing the first two games to Fresno State the Oregon ducks finished up the 4 game series with back to back wins.  They played a double header on Saturday defeating the bulldogs 5-3 and 8-7.

Beavers Sweep Utes

The Oregon State Beavers picked up 3 more wins over the weekend against the Utes of Utah. Including an 11-nothing shellacking on Saturday.  Bryce Fehmel completed his fourth complete game and third shutout in the win allowing only 5 hits and gaining a 5-0 record on the season.  Game 2 on Saturday went to extra innings with Mulholland getting the with in 4 2/3 innings striking out 5 and allowing only 3 hits.

 

The beavers and ducks are schedule to meet tomorrow in Corvallis at 5:30 with a pregame scheduled for KCFM at 5 pm.
