Prefontaine Invitational

Highlights from Saturday’s Prefontaine Rotary Invitational include 15 personal records on the day and 1 school record.  Ryan Jennings set a personal best time of 54.07 in the 400 meters.  Sophomore Jaxson Jensen set a personal record time of 2:12.14 in the 800 meters placing third in the event.  Hannah Rannow placed second in the 800 meters with a season best time of 2:25.45 and also placed second in the mile with a personal best time of 5:13.14.  Sophomore Gracie Freudenthal won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.48 and placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.27.  Ryan Rendon-Padilla took second place in the Javelin behind a massive toss by North Bend senior Ty Hampton who let the stick fly for 216-10.

 

The track and field event that was scheduled for Mapleton tomorrow has been moved to Siuslaw due to high water and unsafe field conditions.  Field events will begin at 4:30 and running events begin at 5.

Viking Baseball

Friday was a rough day for the Siuslaw Vikings Baseball team.  The Vikings hosted Junction City on Friday for a double header.  In the first game Junction City defeated the Vikings 20-3 in a shortened game due to a 10 run inning rule.  The second game also went to Junction City for a final of 6-0.

Viking Softball

Viking Softball also hosted Junction city for a Friday double header.  Junction City took both games 18-1 and 16-2.

Ducks on the Diamond

Over the weekend the Oregon Ducks took the first two games from Washington State with a 21-3 victory on Friday

And an 11-8 victory on Saturday, but a late rally by the cougars on Sunday spoiled the sweep for the ducks.  With a final score of 8-7 Cougars.  The ducks meet Gonzaga in Spokane this afternoon.

Beaver Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers had the reverse of their instate rivals.  The lost their first game in the desert on Friday against the Arizona State Sundevils 4-1 but came back to form on Saturday with a  6-4 win and Sunday defeated ASU 4-3.  The beavers take on the Wildcats of Arizona at home  beginning this Thursday.
