Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw news and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Junior Track standout Hannah Rannow as this week’s Athlete of the Week. At Friday’s Central Coast Invitational, with eleven teams represented, Hannah dominated the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.32. Rannow’s time is currently leading the state and it was a new personal record time for her.
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Andrea Osbon who placed second in both the Shot put and Discus. Shot put distance was 35ft 2 inches, just 3 inches from Newport senior Halle Hargett.
Siuslaw Vs Marshfield
The Siuslaw Vikings will take on the Marshfield Pirates in Coos Bay in both Skyem league baseball and softball. The girls game at Marshfield High School gets underway at 5 o’clock. The boys baseball game airs on KCST beginning with a pregame show at 4:45. Games are weather and field conditions permitting.
JV Track Meet
Siuslaw will compete at Elmira High School this afternoon for a Skyem league JV Meet. Field events begin at 4 o’clock, track events at 4:30.
Beavers Drop After 12
Oregon state was in Reno Nevada last night…the wolfpack took the beavers to 12 innings before shutting the door on them. A sacrifice bunt brought in the winning run defeating the beavers 8-7. The two game series closes out this afternoon in Reno.
