Vikings Hold Off Elmira

Coach Tom Shinn said the Vikings defensive play was part of the reason that the Vikings won last night.  A double play with bases loaded in the second inning squashed a rally from Elmira.  Shinn said several players had a great game including first baseman Gabe Simington who scooped up a couple of throws that saved runs.  The Vikings had 6 hits on the night and produced 4 runs and held Elmira to just 2 runs.

Lady Viks Fall to Elmira

On the road the Viking Girls Softball team had less success.  They visited Elmira last night and struggled with only 3 hits on the night.  Elmira racked up 12 runs on 14 hits.  It was an error filled game for the Lady Vikings who had 8 on the night.  Final score 12-1 Elmira.

Ducks Beat Portland

The Ducks and Portland were tied through 7 ½ innings last night when a couple of well placed singles scored 3 more runs for the Ducks giving them a 4-1 win.
