Vikings Receive Sky-Em All League Honors

Several members of the Siuslaw Viking’s Baseball and Softball teams have received honors.  Sky-Em All League players include Gabe Simington 2nd Team Pitching, Jared Northrup 2nd Team Infield and Elijah Blankenship Honorable Mention Catcher, Zach Stinger, Honorable Mention infield and Caleb Henessee, Honorable Mention utility player.  For the Ladies Lexie Smith, 2nd Team Catcher, Lupita Figueroa, 2nd Team Outfield, Nina Aaron, 2nd Team Pitcher, and Bailey Overton 2nd Team Infield.

State Championships Track and Field

Seven Siuslaw Vikings will be competing in Gresham at the OSAA 4 A State Championships.  On the track at Mt. Hood Community College will be sophomores  Ryan Jennings, Brea Blankenship, Gracie Freudenthal and Andrea Osbon;  juniors Ryan Rendon-Padilla and Hana Rannow and senior Naomi Shoji.

Mapleton’s JJ Neece will be the lone Sailor competing Saturday from Mapleton during the OSAA 1 A State Championships at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.

Diamond Schedule:

On the diamond this evening will be the Oregon State Beavers at Stanford to face the Cardinal in Pac Twelve baseball.  Game one of a three game series is at 6 o’clock this evening, pregame on KCFM is at 5:30.  Tomorrow’s game airs at 3:30 with Sunday’s pregame at 11:30.

The Oregon Ducks will be on the diamond in Los Angeles taking on the USC Trojans for the first of three games.  Tonight’s game is at 6 o’clock, the series runs through Sunday.

Rhody Run

The 40th annual 5 and 10 K Rhody Run will kick off at 9am tomorrow.  Race day registration at the Florence Events Center opens at 7am and closes at 8:30.
