4A State Championships

Gracie Freudenthal is the newest State Champion for the Siuslaw Vikings.  Freudenthal competed at the state finals on Saturday for the 300 meter hurdles setting a new school record in the process with a time of 45.64.  On Friday Hannah Rannow took the state title in the 3000 meter race with a personal record time of 10:14.30, and Ryan Rendon Padilla took the state championship in the Javelin for the second year in a row with a toss of 186-11.  The girls 4×400 relay team finished 4th in the state and Hannah Rannow finished second in the 800 meter race with Brea Blankenship finishing 5th.  Ryan Jennings finished 4th in the 300 meter hurdles and Andrea Osbon finished 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 38-01.

1A State Championships

JJ Neece competed in the State Championships for 1A schools in Monmouth over the weeked.  Neece was scheduled for 4 events.  Neece finished 4th in the 100 meters with a personal record of 11.62, and the Javelin with a toss of 153-07

College Baseball

In college baseball the Oregon Ducks were in L.A. to face the USC Trojans.  They lost the opener 10-6 to USC and came back on Saturday to win 10-7.  USC got the tiebreaker on Sunday with an 8-2 victory.

The Oregon State Beavers were scheduled to play 3 games against Stanford but due to a rain out only got 2 games in.  they split with the Cardinal team losing 8-5 on Friday and winning yesterday 5-2.

The Beavers take on USC next and the Ducks face UC Riverside today before meeting with UCLA in Eugene on Thursday.
