The backyard burning season is winding down with a mere two weeks left before the schedule burn season closure. Set to end on Saturday, June 15th, but were our usual high winds coupled with higher than normal temperatures could mean an earlier end to the season. Long range temperatures for the Coast Lane County area from the National Weather Service currently for see high temperatures in the lower 6o’s through next Wednesday. City of Florence residents are reminded that no burning is allowed at anytime within the city limits. Residents living outside the city limits in Lane County should call the L-Rapa outdoor burning advisory website at L-Rapa dot org and call before burning 541-997-1757. You must also have a current burn season permit from the Siuslaw Valley Fire District on hand.
