Elliott Fun Bass Tournament

Saturday and Sunday on Siltcoos Lake the Florence Siuslaw Lions club will hold their 37th Elliott Fun Bass Tournament.  Teams of two will hit the lake beginning at 6am at Darlings Resort both days. Weigh ins will be held both afternoons at 2 o’clock. The Elliot Fun Bass Tournament is the only open tourney in Oregon according the Lion’s organizer Mark Meyers who said the entry is $60 per two man team.

“All the proceeds from the Bass Tournament go to our scholarship program.  We added a third one called the Mike Groshong Scholarship.   And we have the Joanne Coffindaffer Scholarship for people going into teaching or into medical fields.  And then we have the George Elliott one, which is a general scholarship also, they’re each $500.

 During the two day tournament the Lions club will be serving their famous hamburgers and hot dogs,  with raffles through out.  The catch and release tournament is open to the public, trophies will be presented after Sunday’s Weigh in at Darlings Resort in Dunes City.
