Beavers Bow Out; Outdoor Championships

Beavers Bow Out

The Oregon State Beavers season came to an end on Saturday.  After losing the first game in the Corvallis Regionals, the beavers had a chance to hold on as they faced Creighton. Creighton out hit the beavers 9-4 and the Beavers had 3 errors on the afternoon.  The Beavers only run came on a sacrifice fly in the 4th inning by junior Andy Armstrong.  Final score was 4-1 Creighton.  The Beavers finish out the season with a record of 36-20-1.

Outdoor Championships

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin this Wednesday in Austin Texas, one of the Oregon Ducks is hopeful after a personal record in the 400 meters.  Venessa D’Arpino says she knew she had to win.

“When I found out I was in heat 3, I knew that my teammates were in heat one and heat two and if they were going to make it, I had to make it.  I couldn’t be the only girl left behind.”

The championships will begin Wednesday and continue through Saturday.  Both Oregon and Oregon State will be represented.
