Eugene Breaks Even With Spokane

The Eugene emeralds combined for 12 hits last night as they even up the series with the Spokane Indians.  The Ems hammered in 3 runs in the first inning to set the tone for the game.  Ems pitchers were working on a shut out but Spokane broke into the game late with two runs in the top of the 9th but that was not enough to overtake the Ems who racked up 9 runs.  The Ems used 3 pitchers on the night.  22  year old Zach Mort gets the win for the Ems with 5 innings pitched with 3 hits and 6 strike outs.  The ems continue their home stay this evening and will host the Boise Hawks for a three game series that finishes up on Sunday.
